The Cedä M in the heart of the small mountain village of Dosoledo on the edge of the Dolomites tells the story of this memorable place in each of its five holiday rooms in a very unique and unmistakable way. Built in 1807 and shaped by the life of the farmers in the secluded Comelico Valley, the house is a historical gem in every way – from the preserved exterior façade to the whitewashed beams, parlour panelling and ornate walls to the old wooden floorboards, the rough plaster and the Dippelbaum ceiling.
The “Minimo intervento” – which was the primary focus during the renovation, upgrading and repair – preserves the authentic character of the farmhouse. Supplemented by modern comforts such as light, heating and bathrooms. Even the original interior layout was retained, extended where statically necessary and connected in some places. Like, for example, the versatile open “space of possibilities”, which is open to all guests and offers room over two floors. This links the “tabie”, a cosy living room in the former stable, a common “cusinä”, and a small but exquisite library. Each of the five bedrooms with individual names casts its own light on the history of this special house and its surroundings. Always with a double bed made of Swiss stone pine, a freestanding bathtub, as well as curated works of art and old pieces of furniture that draw from all eras. A place that seems to have fallen out of time and that offers exactly what we all long for: Retreat, tranquillity and the fresh mountain air.

One Comment
We stayed two nights and it was definitely worth it: You will find this old restored building in a peaceful little village directly behind the church in the dolomites. Next time we would book the whole house, which is possible as well.
The owner is very friendly and the communication was great.
