The holiday cottages of Netzschuppen at Kappeln’s fishing harbour are the perfect place to let your thoughts wander and capture moments. Every time you look out of the large windows, a veritable Wimmelbuch [busy book] opens up – from the morning departure of the cutters and sailing boats to their return with a fresh catch and to the colourful hustle and bustle on the pier. The five loft apartments, designed in the style of Scandinavian fishermen’s houses and with black wood cladding, are located on a slope at the end of the harbour promenade directly on the Schlei, combining the lively activity of the harbour and privacy in one place. On either side there are not only views from the windows, but also from the balconies. In this way you can breathe in the sea air or enjoy the view of the greenery.
The light and airy loft character of the terrace holiday homes with their peaked roofs is created by the split-level architecture, spread over four mezzanines and offering enough space for four people. From the spacious living and dining area with open kitchen and full-surface window front to the harbour spectacle to two quiet bedrooms facing the slope, complete with shower room and separate toilet, to the parking space on the open ground floor. Some of the rooms can also be separated by sliding doors, allowing individual retreat on the different levels. The entire light-flooded interior is bathed in bright colours and equipped with warm wooden floors, lots of glass and minimal furniture. So, there is hardly anything to get in the way of letting your thoughts wander.
Nevertheless, the modern fisherman’s cottage provides all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Behind the house, there is also a communal garden for a relaxed stroll. A holiday home without snags.
What to do
Cycling and hiking tours along the Schlei and throughout the region; a variety of water sports, from wind- and kitesurfing to sailing, canoeing and stand-up paddling, swimming and fishing; golf and mini-golf; horseback riding; the charming town centre of Kappeln with various shopping facilities and restaurants is only a few steps away; excursions to the Schlei villages or a cultural visit to Schleswig.
Why we like this house
Danish fishermen's cottages with a modern interpretation. The special location between the hillside and the harbour makes for contrasting views.
This house is great for
Families, couples and friends wishing to combine urban life and outdoor adventures.
Sustainability
Combined heat and power: heating and hot water are generated by a fuel cell, which also provides electricity for the buildings; good public transport connections; e-charging station directly at the house.
